The largest mission in California, the restored Mission San Luis Rey is a National Historic Site. Mission buildings are a blend of Spanish, Moorish and Mexican architectures. The mission is still used as a seminary and parish church and houses a retreat center with educational workshops and facilities for conferences, weddings and banquets, as well as a museum and gift shop.
